Trunk show at Tumut
But first, very happy to have another project in March edition of Homespun magazine…..
Introducting Bertha’s Album quilt…..page 62
Named in honour of my maternal grandmother
A bigger quilt, not too complicated, with a little of all sorts.
Now, the real reason for sharing the news, last week I made a trip up to beautiful Tumut, to meet Alison and all the girls in the hall for a delicious morning tea and a trunk show. I felt like I was moving house, the car was full of suitcases of quilts to show the ladies. Thanks to Zena for helping me hold them up, and all the girls for asking me up there. I had a lovely morning, great to meet you all. Thankyou. And I will be back at some time to see how your Vera Gollasch quilts are going, ok!
I forgot to get my camera out till the end, by this time we were into the coffee and cake well and truly, and then they got out their own stitching and also a little of show-and-tell themselves.
You can see in the foreground of the photo below just some of the quilts I took with me,
Below is a quilt made by Sue Bates, just a couple of the 12 blocks that where immaculately stitched into a quilt, it was beautiful.
Another one…
And quilted by Julie Lorimer of Roundabout Stitches. I hope I got the names right!! Also, 1/2″ hexagons – just stunning in hand dyes and white.
A lot of time invested in this little beauty. Thankyou again for having me.
Well it is now April, Easter, end of daylight savings (yippee) and all we need now is rain, rain all day and night, beautiful soaking rain to lift our spirits and get us started on another year. We shall be always hopeful that it will happen.
Anyway, wishing you all a happy Easter, please drive safely, enjoy your time with family and friends, and eat as much chocolate as you want!!
Talk again soon, Janelle
