REDGUM QUILT BY COUNTRY MATTERS
Well it is now officially winter, we have had wonderful soaking rains over the weekend, and over the next few weeks we will see all the winter crops emerging as well as frosts and sunny days. Autumn leaves cover the ground everywhere, and the cosy feeling of sitting in front of a fire and doing some stitching is very tempting. So as the hectic outside activities of cropping have eased, hopefully I can get abit more of the other sowing, sewing done.
This great winter project, the Redgum quilt, originally made in reds and browns, but this is a photo of Carol’s Redgum, her version is in reproduction blues and browns.
These are close up views, she has done a great job with the piecing, considering it is only her second quilt. Below is my version made into a table runner, the pattern includes notes for a quilt or a table runner, just send me a comment if you are interested in making one.
This is Faye’s version of Moody Blues, in a slightly brighter tone than mine,
If you look closely, you can see how she has fussy cut the sashing to add a little blue line around each block. It is very effective – well done Faye.
Next post I will be showing you some photos of my new design, just need to get some photos and it will be here for all to see.
Until next time, keep on stitching
Janelle
