Hello there, well what has happened since we last talked, was it that long ago – no can’t be, this year is just flying past and between all the runnings of farm, teenagers and sewing, who has time to blog. Sorry to put you on the bottom of the list, but today I have made time to go on air for a small amount of time, here goes…
This is a little of what Belinda from my Wednesday class at Patchwork on Parker has been doing this year – my Hopscotch quilt-as-you-go quilt all in pinks, hot pinks, pastels, spots, stripes, prints, plains, you name it, it is in there. It looks amazing. Well done. This is her first quilt – pretty good Belinda. Now onto the next one (or three!)
and a close-up view (spot the odd owl or two)
Also, a couple of versions of Moody Blues, the first is Kaye’s in the green and black, very striking
and close-up
And Faye’s from my Saturday class at Simply Stitches made hers in blue, but with clever fussy cutting on the sashing
see it better close-up – how amazing is that to stitch exactly on the edge,
And finally, one that I have been working on, a quilt I made for a friend’s daugther’s 21st birthday presie, I made one for her and then still having lots of the light blue print left, made another for me,
I was very happy with how the colours worked together, a smaller one and quite quick to put together featuring the Old Maid’s Puzzle block.
Yes, I should have a lot more to show for the time that I have been away, my apologies for the long time between posts, I have been spending a lot of time working on my Lucy Boston blocks, so next post I will have some more of these to show you.
Also wanting to thank everyone for their wonderful words of support and encouragement to me over the last month, on my win at the Canberra Quilt show. It is humbling and I appreciate it very much, it inspires me too, to keep going into that sewing room and getting on with the cutting and the stitching.
So, I had better sign off, and get back to it, although it is such a nice day, I might head out to the garden…
Sewing in the country, Janelle.
Congrats Janelle on your win in Canberra.
I had to find the Canberra quilters website to see a pic!
How come we didn’t see a proud post about it??
Sounds like you’ve been busy in the classroom too.
Thanks Chris, I was very excited and surprised. Yes abit slack with the blogging lately, I will put a pic up on the next post for you. Keep well.
Found the owls! Beautiful work Belinda must have a good teacher!
